The journal

The ranking states a conclusion in a few sentences. The journal is where the reasoning goes when it needs more room than a card allows.

Recent pieces

Notes from the desk

Each piece explains one part of how we read an Android game or its store listing. None of them is a review, and none of them ranks anything.

Controller support on Android

Why a listing that mentions a gamepad is not the same as a game that has been designed for one.

What the journal is for

An invitation, and a limit

We explain our method here

When one of the three criteria needs unpacking, it becomes an article rather than a longer paragraph on the ranking page. The method itself lives on how we rate.

We do not review here

Individual verdicts stay on the ranking, where they sit next to the store figures they depend on. The journal deals in the reading, not the scoring.

Corrections are welcome

If a piece states something you can show to be wrong, tell us which listing you read and when. Every change we make is dated. Write to the desk from the contact page.
